About Us

We're a pair of engineers, Max and Henry, specialising in electronics and mechanics respectively. We have worked on a handful of hobbyist/amateur robotics projects together in the past including RC quadcopters & planes, several entires to the Pi-Wars competition, and a selection of other miscellaneous projects.

We went to secondary school together which is where we first developed an interest in robotics. Shortly after, we competed in the inaugural Pi-Wars in 2014 and again the year after in 2015.

We entered in 2016 but were given a reserve place, dropping out when we were too busy to complete our robot in time. This robot ended up becoming what we call "spinny robot" - not all that useful, but very fun. We then spent time messing around with RC planes, 5" racing quadcopters, and other similar projects mostly using pre-made modules & software.

We also delved back into the world of robotics again a little, developing a pong-robot that drives around and launches table-tennis ball when they are thrown into it.

After graduating university and getting jobs as professional engineers, Pi-Wars has once again taken the dominant position in our ever-increasing list of projects. This time, however, it is our goal to do as much from scratch as possible in order to challenge ourselves. Also we enjoy it.

This blog is an attempt to document our journey while we work on the various projects that interest us, as well as to hold us accountable for our lack of progress.
